It will take approximately 5 minutes for the firmware file to download, and an additional 5 minutes until the OK icon is displayed (after the writing icon is displayed) on the rear monitor. Once the OK icon is displayed on the camera’s rear monitor, it is safe to disconnect. Without sufficient power, the firmware update may fail or will not start. The E-M1X’s firmware update takes longer to complete versus other OM-D camera models.
